Neat! Good to see a large group to rally.

Rain doesnt stop the Deaf march! Fists up in the AIR, yeeaahhhh!

Was there any march in London or England?

@ Isabelle - there hasn't been a BSL march in the UK since 2003. Perhaps there's a need to regroup and organise something, but it needs a new generation of activists too. For various complex reasons, there's been little political activity in recent years. It is my belief that this is down to key leaders otherwise engaged (either through other activities, burnout or illness), and no obvious replacement.

The other reason, the BSL recognition campaign was taken over by hearing people (and things implemented that we didn't initially ask for), which has meant that grassroot activists have become extremely demotivated. The result? Nothing moves forward.

There's a lot more to this than I can possibly summarise in a single comment. Thanks for alerting us / the links to the other Danish march (via your blog), I've blogged about this here (next post) and linked back to you.
